Preparedness for outbreaks requires expertise in many areas, and HONOURs has united 10 European research sites that are experts in preparedness for biological threats and incidences, virus discovery, early detection, virus culture, animal models, vaccines, and awareness. Being able to identify an outbreak at the earliest stage is of importance, therefore HONOURs has among the 10 HONOURs universities/institutes and companies no less than six beneficiaries that perform large-scale diagnostic in the human and veterinary field to monitor “diagnostics-that-remain-negative” and represent the One Health concept.
