Protein production from start to finish

       Training ING April 2018

From April 17th-20th 2018 the first Protein Production course was given to 7 ESRs by INGENASA in Madrid.

The course covered systems in which proteins can be expressed, how proteins can be purified, and ultimately how they can be used in diagnostic tests, in particular lateral flow assays and ELISAs. The ESRs were able to try each part of the whole process of baculoviral vector protein expression within one week, despite it normally taking three or more. This required a lot of work and coordination on the part of the INGENASA team, and it was very smooth. The course gave some of the ESRs practical experience with techniques they would otherwise only read about, and all ESRs enjoyed their time at INGENASA. The next course for the remaining ESRs will be hosted by INGENASA in 2019
