PhD DEFENCE TRAN THI NHU THAO!

On the 23rd of June 2021 Tran Thi Nhu Thao defended her PhD-thesis entitled “Establishment of a reverse genetics platform for emerging RNA viruses”. Thao presented the power of a universal reverse genetics platform for the assembly and engineering of infectious full-length cDNA clones of viruses. A system that uses yeast-based transformation-associated recombination cloning. There was room for questions by the live audience and also the people that attended virtually. The last part of the defence was held behind closed doors, with examination by the defence committee. The committee members graded Thao with the highest grade (6.0) and also the written thesis had an overall grade of 6.0!
