       Pauline defense

On the 28th of October 2021 Pauline Dianne Santos successfully defended her thesis entitled “High-throughput sequencing based early warning and outbreak investigation”. The defence was open to the public, with Pauline presenting the result of her research: the elegant Early Warning System she developed, the detection of West Nile virus and Usutu virus and the discovery of novel viruses in birds. Several questions by the scientifc committee and the audience were properly addressed and Pauline passed with the grade of Magna cum laude!
